Hola from Cabo: A Report on the MedFlight911 Air Ambulance Board Meeting
Every year, the MedFlight911 Air Ambulance board of directors gets together to discuss the events of the past year and the future direction of the company. This past June, we gathered in beautiful Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for several days of work, as well as a little bit of fun.
We arrived in Cabo San Lucas – which is located at the very southern tip of the Baja California peninsula – just two weeks before the G20 summit, which was held there on June 18 and 19. Everyone in this city of 70,000 residents was obviously very busy preparing for the summit, including a massive beautification project. It's not surprising that the preparations were so intense, considering that the G20 brought international leaders from 20 different countries, including the U.S., Germany, Japan, and Brazil, to Mexico. You could really tell the entire city was getting a full makeover.
It was also fascinating to see how much of the city's economy revolved around tourism. Everyone in the city was so welcoming, and they were really focused on trying to ensure that you had a great experience while there. While we spent a lot of our time on work-related business, we also got to take advantage of Cabo's exciting culture and nightlife. Our families even got to come along, so it really was an enjoyable combination of work and play. Overall, it was a great place to experience as a team, and we all were thrilled with the different things the city had to offer.
Of course, the MedFlight911 air ambulance team didn't spend the entire trip snorkeling and relaxing on the beach. We also took the time to talk about what the future holds for MedFlight911 and what we can expect over the next 12 months. As always, our focus was on the patients who we serve and their families, and how we can improve the advanced air ambulance services that we are so proud to provide.
